Day 12 – Never Too Much Joy
Luke 2:10 ESV
Focal Scripture: “And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
According to Spurgeon: There are some that experience joy in their own sin. This is an unholy peace and joy. It is the beginning of grace to be uncomfortable with our sin. When we accept God’s gift of salvation we can experience pure, long lasting joy. We can never have too much of this joy or be led astray by it. The salvation story could only be achieved by God trading in his glory and splendor for our sins. There is great joy in knowing that we will be saved.

My Thoughts: Proverbs 14:12 states that “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Some people are not bothered by their sin. Their hearts are so callous and far away from God that they have learned to call good evil and evil good. But we can rejoice in knowing even this person is not too far from God. Some of us were this person, far from God. In His abundant love, grace and mercy He found us, loved us and died for us. Knowing and accepting this brought us salvation and great joy.
